The Arrival. A wonderful book by Shaun Tan

I've fallen in love with this book by Australian artist Shuan Tan. It's like a graphic novel in that it has wonderful sequential images used to tell a compelling story. But it has no words and it is designed to be like an old, weathered passport to a beautifully illustrated story of immigration, family, and discovery.

I have a somewhat embarrassingly muddled video review of it here.
I made a mistake in the video blog when I said that the family came to the United States. That is not portrayed it the book. The new country where the family moves could represent any place of opportunity and freedom which could be the U.S., U.K., France, Australia, etc.
