"The Grateful Frog"

A little frog fell out of our patio umbrella when I opened it up this morning. I put a plastic cup over him. He climbed up in the cup. Then I set the cup by our garden and gave him some privacy so he could escape without undue injury. When I came back, he had moved on :-)

Froggy saga continues: as I was sitting at the patio table I noticed what I thought was another frog climbing up the back of one of the chairs nearby. But as I took a closer look, I’m pretty sure it’s the same frog! It didn’t take him very long at all to come back to the patio table from where I released him in the garden! Did he come back to thank me? I told him he could just stay there as long as he wanted. 😅✨🐸❤️

Bonus (not found on Instagram): After Froggy and I had been chillin' for a while, he suddenly plopped down onto the patio bricks and made his way to nearby flower pots that he climbed into and hid among the leaves. Not to self -- Little frogs like to hide in leafy flower pots. Next time I find one, I'll release it there! 

Frogging decided to find a secluded spot hidden in the center flower pot above.

UPDATE: I did some research and determined that this is a tree frog! It matches photos of my Google search of "Tree frogs in Illinois". That's why he was in the umbrella and is a good climber! ^_^
