Happy 85th birthday, #Superman. Many more to come. The two 17 year old teenage boys who created him in Cleveland didn’t just give us the world’s best superhero. They give us something to believe in. Thanks, Jerry and Joe. #Superman85 #SupermanAnniversary pic.twitter.com/JPhyFVDuga

Some might say Superman has lost some of his luster in these cynical times when the Lex Luthors of the world seem to be in power. But I think the Last Son of Krypton who, in his earliest depictions was a hero for the oppressed, is more relevant than ever.
Excellent Video of Superman's Debut on the Big Screen in an animated story:
Superman Secret Origins:
Julius Schwartz said Jerry Siegel corresponded with Chicago newspaper #reporter/#scifi fan, Walter Dennis in 1930 & had Joe Shuster use his likeness to create #ClarkKent, #alterego of #Superman in #ActionComics, 1938. Clark came from #ClarkGable. Kent, from actor #KentTaylor. pic.twitter.com/cPtcolOZlT
