The Batman Gave DC / Warner Bros A Toy Boost

2022 UPDATE:

Upon a recent review of The Batman movie toy promos available at Target stores, I'd say DC/WB is up-ping their game:

Previous 2014 Review: The other day, while stocking up on supplies at Wal-Mart, I went to the toy aisle to see what Action figures they had available. There were a lot of Marvel posable action figure characters like this one of Iron Man.

Here is one of the offerings of toys based on the latest Man of Steel movie:

I saw this nice figure of Captain America:

They had lots of these smaller figures based on the Man of Steel movie. They all had Superman holding some large item and if you press the figure's legs together it would raise, twirl or thrust forth the item it was holding.

But it was not as big as the Marvel action figures (notice the Man of Steel toy next to the Hulk figure).

And the item in the Man of Steel figure was not removable.

This Man of Steel figure was the coolest looking one. But the sections of the steel safe door in his hands are permanently fixed/attached to his hands. That's what is called a one-trick pony.

Notice how these Man of Steel toys are now on sale (obviously not much demand).

Another example of a Man of Steel figure next to a cool, fully-posable, decent-sized Spider Man.

I wonder why there are no decent stand-alone DC Superman figures available at a retail store like Wal-Mart. I guess a person would need to visit a comic/specialty shop. Too bad.
