Planetary Musings


Somewhat grainy, this is an iPhone photo of Venus (the bright one) and Jupiter in the twilight sky (faint light lower left of Venus).

I wonder how astrologists, before telescopes, could name the planet Jupiter before the had the ability to see how big it was?

The history of planetary discovery and symbols attached to planets would be a great topic for another post.

But for now see my development of a fictional planet's data as I tie it into the back story of my character Tigrikorn:
