I made this little drawing for fun to experiment with an online painting program. But, now, when I look of it I can't help thinking of the BP oil leak in the Gulf of Mexico. It is an innocuous little cartoon reminding me of a horrendous ecological disaster. The BP oil crisis points out how fragile we are and prone to catastrophic mistakes. It also shows how vital it is to reduce our oil dependency so one day much less oil will need to be mined.

From the beginning of the crisis I thought it was like the 3 Mile Island disaster in the 70s which curtailed the spread of Nuclear Power plants.
