Surviving Niagara Falls (Once)

You hear about the Niagara Falls guy? He jumped over the falls and survived. Very goofy. His brother was on the Today Show this morning as was his mom and dad. The whole family seemed like characters that would appear in a Saturday Night Live comedy sketch.

He had been there with his dad some time ago and told his dad that he figured out a way to go down the fall and not get killed. But his dad said that he thought it was just a comment and never imagined his son would actually do it. Quite a bizarre story. Now watch, there will be more unemployed, hapless guys trying to do the same thing....like the guys who like to "surf" on tops of subway trains. Goofy.

Weather's gotten cooler here now. Sun's out but the temp is in the low 60s. I mowed the lawn for the last time before winter last nite. Now my Thursday evenings (when I normally mow) will be freed up a bit for a few months. Tree colors are quite vibrant around here this year. Visually, it's been a great Autumn so far.

2017 UPDATE: I'm sad to learn that this same gentleman, this year at age 53, tried going over Niagara Falls again and did not survive. He was a victim of his own hapless ambition, I guess. Was he wanting to re-live the excitement of his previous experience? Heartfelt condolences to his family.
